FreeBSD 8.0 has been released!

It was a great news for me when I learned that FreeBSD 8.0 already released yesterday. This release version improves on the functionality of FreeBSD 7.X and introduces many new features. One of these new features, I pay more attention to the function of support for 802.11s. If you have interested in these new features, you can refer to the following introduction.

  • Xen Dom-U, VirtualBox guest and host, hierarchical jails.
  • NFSv3 GSSAPI support, experimental NFSv4 client and server.
  • 802.11s D3.03 wireless mesh networking and Virtual Access Point support.
  • ZFS is no longer in experimental status.
  • Ground-up rewrite of USB, including USB target support.
  • Continued SMP scalability improvements in many areas, especially VFS.
  • Revised network link layer subsystem.
  • Experimental MIPS architecture support.

Using QStarDict to replace Stardict in openSUSE 11.2

I was using Stardict for a long time in openSUSE 11.1, but it could not work after I upgraded a number of packages. I always see the screen that be stuck in the Loading of the phenomenon even installed openSUSE 11.2 this problem still can't be solved. Fortunately, there is a specific Qt package for KDE environment can be used normally, it called QStarDict. It's a translation package like Stardict. We can use it to replace Stardict and there is nothing better than it. We can use dictionary files of Stardict in it, and even the interface is also more integrated with your KDE. I had also been insisted on using Stardict and trying to downgrade some package to confirm whether it can work properly, but still failed. There is no solution to fix Stardict problem in openSUSE, so I try to find out other way to translate. Finally, I find it QStarDict!
If you want to use a translation tool, please install QStarDict right now. It will be able to replace Stardict in your openSUSE 11.2 machine...
